Sarah is a health economist with experience advising governments and international organisations in health financing policy, primary health care systems strengthening and health equity. Sarah served as an economic advisor to the Ministry of Health in Nigeria, where she spent three years working with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) on the implementation and evaluation of innovative health financing programmes. She has expertise in implementing evidence-based health policies and integrating economic evaluation into decision-making processes.
Sarah holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Sheffield and an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York. She is currently undertaking her PhD on global health financing at the University of York, where her research focuses on improving the effectiveness and equity of resource allocation for health in large, federalized low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Her PhD studentship is supported by the NIHR Global Health Research Unit, “Health Financing for UHC in Challenging Times: Leaving No-one Behind” (HFACT), which collaborates with partners in Brazil, India, Indonesia, and South Africa.
